Starting November 27th, North Boulder Park merited at least an attempt at grooming for skate only. However, there were no available volunteer groomers. This was the case until about the 29th when the conditions began to deteriorate.
Over the decades, there have been a handful of snow events when the BNC simply did not have available groomers. It’s a nuanced situation because there’s no simple answer to making a volunteer grooming operation work every time.
To add to the complexity, the BNC’s second grooming rig stored at CU South has a rodent problem. The result is that the BNC’s main grooming volunteer is facing hours and days of work and coordination to get that rig taken care off.
